Prescription Sunglasses by Bôhten – Customization Process

As some of you may know, I’m a big ol’ fan of some modern eyewear.

So when Bôhten contacted me and asked if I’d like to get a sneak peek at their new UK exclusive line, I obviously said yes.

Bôhten is an eco-luxury eyewear brand that is seriously shaking up the industry. Not only are their frames beautifully crafted, but they are also made from locally accessible, and reclaimed materials. This makes their products eco-friendly as well as gives them an edge when it comes to design. They have become the global leader in eyewear manufacturing in Africa, and it’s pretty obvious why!

Bôhten is releasing a new line of customizable glasses and sunglasses, and I got to have a one-on-one preview!

The experience was honestly amazing. Myself and Nana Osei (the founder of Bôhten) met up for coffee and tea, and chit chatted for a bit before he showed me the collection.

First, I got to check out two variations of the “Aristotle” frame.

I tried both of them on, and it took me quite a bit of time to decide between the matte black, and shiny rose gold. The matte black looked amazing with the wood, and I personally liked the cooler-toned lenses with it. The rose gold on the other hand, I prefered with the warmer toned lenses. Both styles really are unique and extremely comfortable. The nose bridge basically forms to your nose shape, as there actually isn’t really a bridge at all!

Nana then opened up a display with tons of different coloured lenses.

He explained to me that they offer the option to customize your glasses/sunglasses, and one of those options is the colour of your lenses! There were a bunch of variations of brown, grey, as well as greens, coppers, and also pink, blue and yellow! It took me even longer to pick out a colour honestly – I’m just an indecisive person naturally, so I definitely took my time haha.

So in the end,

I decided on a rose gold frame, and deep copper lenses. The warm tones suited my face and really complimented the wood accents of the frames. Not only are they beautiful, but they’re extremely comfortable, as the nose piece basically forms to your nose, making them perfect for any glasses/sunglasses wearer.

The “Aristotle” frame is unlike any frame I’ve seen before, and same goes for Bôhten as a company. They are extremely inclusive, and truly value their customers’ support and engagement. They design and create eyewear for the people who really need it, and they’re doing a damn good job at it.

As the sunglasses are custom, I should expect to get them in the mail within a week or two, and I will be giving a review of them once they arrive at my doorstep! Stay tuned!

In the meantime, check out Bôhten’s website, and follow them on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter for updates!
